Phoenix Lights are a rock band based in The Netherlands. The band draws from multiple influences, including progressive rock, pop and classical. Their music is characterized by unusual compositions, melodious motifs and dynamic contrast. Each composition is a story, and each story is connected to the next one, via an invisible, but tangible thread.
Founded by Sandra Spaceflower Zovko and Laurens Voois, Phoenix Lights mainly played as a duo, occasionally working with guest musicians. In 2015 they released their debut album “Phoenix Lights” and played various venues throughout The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Croatia. In 2017 they composed music for a theatre piece “Rivierzeep” (DOOR).
In summer of 2020 bassist Marc Damania and drummer Koen Maassen joined the band, adding more depth to and expanding the sound of Phoenix Lights. Since then, these four musicians have been working together on the upcoming, second album, due autumn ’21.
